Joanne CoxJoanne is a corporate director and lawyer with more than 35 years experience. She has held a variety of roles with international public companies including legal, government relations, audit, corporate safety and sustainability. During her career, she lived in the US and Russia but has always considered Alberta home. Joanne has a long history of community involvement in areas of child and family services, health & public policy, the arts and animal welfare. In November of 2024, after serving 4 years on the Hull Board of Governors, she was elected Chair. Joanne enjoys travelling to visit her children who are studying in interesting places around the world and enjoys hiking and cross-country skiing in the Rockies.
Mark T. BrownMark is currently the Executive Vice President, ATCO EnPower, a global organization with a focus on renewable resources such as solar, wind and hydroelectric energy. For over 25 years, Mark has taken on various leadership roles in the energy, infrastructure, and technical services sectors. He has experience in engineering, construction, project management, fabrication and corporate portfolios. Mark enjoys being involved in the community, coaching, and spending time with his family.
Ross MiddletonRoss joined the Hull Services Board in 2018. He is the lead of Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Calgary as well as BCG Canada’s Energy Practice. Ross brings deep expertise in strategy development and business model innovation from his longstanding international career with BCG in Calgary, Melbourne, and New York. With experience on numerous not-for-profit boards in Calgary including the Glenbow Museum and Tourism Calgary, and additional volunteer work supporting Calgary Economic Development, Ross also brings additional expertise in Calgary’s tourism economy.
Deborah AppsDeborah is a charitable sector leader with more than 30 years’ experience in government, health care, education, and the arts. She is currently Senior Advisor to the CEO of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS). Deborah has held many senior executive positions, most recently as CEO of the national Trans Canada Trail (TCT). Earlier in her career, Deborah served as Senior Vice President for the Calgary Health Region and CEO of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Deborah has also consulted with organizations like S.T.A.R.S, CNIB, and Ketchum Canada. In recognition of her achievements Deborah was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond & Platinum Jubilee Medals.
Howard Shikaze FCPA-FCA, ICD.D.Howie’s leadership roles in his career, community, and his profession were recognized in 2008 by CPA Alberta with Fellowship recognition, in 2020 by CPA Alberta with a Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2022 by the United Way Calgary and Area with a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. Howie practiced as a Chartered Public Accountant as a principal partner for most of his career and was involved in several businesses. Howie and his wife Sher have two adult children. Howie keeps active with downhill skiing, travelling the world, golfing and is a retired runner.
Jeff SterzukJeff brings over 30 years of experience in the private, non-profit and public sectors in Western Canada. Jeff is the founder and CEO of Prairie Sky Strategy, a public affairs advisory firm headquartered in Calgary. Prior to starting Prairie Sky in 2013, Jeff spent five years as Chief Operating Officer at Impact Society, 15 years in the financial services sector, and three years working with the Saskatchewan Legislature. Community involvement and volunteerism are important to Jeff and he has led several successful fundraising efforts for non-profits. Jeff has also served on several community, arts and government related boards. In his spare time, Jeff likes to golf and has completed several 5k, 10k and half-marathon runs.
Andrew SunterAndrew is a partner at Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP. His practice involves complex, high-stakes litigation across a wide range of areas, including commercial, construction, energy, regulatory and security disputes, corporate governance issues and class actions. Before joining BD&P in 2011, Andrew worked at a top national law firm in Toronto. He has appeared as lead counsel before lower courts in Alberta and Ontario, the Alberta Court of Appeal, administrative tribunals and in commercial arbitrations.
Kory WickenhauserKory is a partner in the assurance services group of PwC Calgary. He has more than 17 years of experience providing professional services to Canadian and international companies. Kory is passionate about working with his clients, staff and the organizations he serves in his community. He is also on the board of directors of CPA Alberta.
Kim WilliamsKim is Vice President & General Manager of Canadian Operations at Ovintiv. Kim was proudly recognized as a recipient of the Inspirational Team Leader award at the 2017 North American Women in Energy Forum, and a 2020 Honoree at The Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead awards. She is a Director for the Canadian Energy Executive Association and the Calgary Petroleum Club.
In her free time, she serves as principal oboist in the Calgary Fire Department’s “Cappy Smart” Band, enjoys tournament poker, and quilting. Kim and her husband Zane enjoy travelling, camping, and fishing together with their two dogs Doug and Ernie.
Margaret McKenzieMs. McKenzie’s principal occupation is as an Independent Businesswoman. Ms. McKenzie was formerly the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Range Royalty and prior thereto was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Profico Energy Management Ltd. (a private oil and gas company).
Ms. McKenzie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta since 1985. She obtained her ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2013.
Ms. McKenzie is an experienced director and currently serves as Chair of PrairieSky Royalty Ltd., a Canadian publicly traded royalty company, as well as a director at Canadian National Railway Company, a NYSE and TSX-listed North American rail company.
