The Recovery, Stabilization and Detox (RSD) program is in partnership with Recovery Alberta. RSD is a 14 day, medically supported detox setting for youth aged 12 to 18, with a strong focus on mental health, stabilization, and recovery. This program falls under the Agency’s Safe Directions continuum.
We are looking for a regular, full-time Child and Youth Care Counsellor. The schedule for this position involves weekend rotation of two 16-hour shifts (14-hour shifts with a 2-hour break) on Saturday and Sunday, with occasional weekday shifts as needed to meet full-time hour requirements. There is also the expectation to attend monthly staff meetings and be available to work statutory holidays.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Child and Youth Care Counsellor participates in all facets of program life and is responsible for our youths’ daily care, treatment, nurturance, supervision, and health. The role is extensive and includes counselling, teaching and training, as well as administrative duties.
