“Healing Our Spirit” Sixties Scoop Walk

Let’s come together for healing to celebrate our journeys. We will spend the day with Elders to dance, sing, laugh, and have a meal together.

Everyone is welcome.

Event Activities

11 – 11:30 a.m.: Arrive at Fort Calgary

11:30 a.m. –  1 p.m.: Walk with four stops which include ceremonies and speakers

1:15 – 1:45 p.m.: Lunch at Central Library

1:50 – 4″30 p.m.: Prayer, guest speakers, activities, and entertainment

Volunteers play a huge part of helping make this event a success! Below is a list of the different ways volunteers will support the event. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Susan at sbareshinbone@hullservices.ca

  • Greeters
  • Elder support
  • Serving meals to elders, dignitaries, guests and emcee
  • Children face paint
  • Assist with event tasks as required
  • Assist support workers
  • Handing out event materials
  • Venue set-up
  • Assist in guiding guests through the walk route
  • Support with Indigenous games
  • Event clean-up
