#GivingTuesday is Nov. 28, and the children, youth, and families we serve at Hull Services need your support to make this holiday season festive and bright.
When you think about the true meaning of the holiday season, what images come to mind? A gift to open on Christmas morning? Spending time with loved ones. Drinking hot cocoa with your family in front of the tree?
These images and memories are things many of us take for granted. But for the children, youth, and families in our care, memories like this are few and far between.
Often times, children and youth arrive at Hull with nothing but a small bag in tow with few possessions. Their lives really are sometimes just packed into one bag.
They may not have family to spend Christmas with and have already had to deal with so much in their short lives. It’s a hard reality and a reflection of the challenges they face every day.
For this GivingTuesday, we would like to share with you how the young people we serve desire the many gifts we so often take for granted, such as a close connection to someone that cares about them, or a gift to open on Christmas morning.
