It is with great sadness that Hull Services has learned of the passing of Charlie Fischer, a longtime friend and supporter to Hull Services.
Charlie’s impact at Hull Services over the years was immeasurable. He had a sincere desire to make a difference in the community and he demonstrated this in everything he did. Charlie, along with his wife Joanne Cuthbertson, dedicated themselves to supporting young people and families struggling with mental health challenges.
Charlie dedicated countless volunteer hours to Hull Services beginning in 1990 when he joined Hull’s Board of Governors. He served on Hull’s Board from 1990-1997, and as Chair from 1994-1995. He also served as a Director and Chair of the Hull Child and Family Foundation from 1993-2019. In 2006 and 2007, both Charlie and Joanne held the position of Chair for Hull’s signature Christmas fundraising event, Hullelujah.
Charlie’s personal investment in building better communities, restoring the wellbeing of those less fortunate and in creating cultures of generosity will not be forgotten. The impact he has had in Alberta through his dedication to improving the lives of children and families will be felt for years to come.
Thanks to Charlie’s generous support to Hull Services over the many years, we can continue to partner with young people and families to build resilience today for a brighter tomorrow.
