Self-care looks different for everyone.
For some, it’s time spent outdoors. For others, it’s connecting with a friend, expressing themselves creatively, or simply slowing down long enough to rest. While the ways we care for ourselves may vary, one thing remains consistent: it’s difficult to thrive alone.
Throughout our lives, relationships, community, and support help us navigate challenges and build resilience. We all need people who make us feel safe, understood, and valued.
The same is true for the children, youth, and families who come to Hull.
This September, we’re inviting Calgarians to take a moment for themselves.
Our self-care quiz explores different ways people recharge, manage stress, and build well-being. You might discover you’re an Active Energizer, Mindful Restorer, Social Connector, or Creative Explorer.
And while you’re learning more about yourself, you will also be helping others.
For every completed quiz, a generous donor will contribute $5 to Hull programs and services that help children, youth, and families heal, grow, and thrive.
Because self-care is important and so is ensuring every young person has the support they need to build a healthy future.
Take the quiz today or sign up for our emails to continue learning about Hull throughout the year.
Take The QuizWhen people think about self-care, they often picture individual actions. But for many young people, well-being starts with something even more fundamental: having a safe place to land and someone they can count on.
Over the last year alone, Hull has supported over 10,000 children, youth, families, caregivers, and professionals across Calgary. Some come to us during moments of crisis. Others are looking for guidance, connection, or a path forward after experiencing trauma and adversity.
At Hull, healing is built through routines, relationships, and culturally grounded care. It’s found in supportive conversations, shared experiences, and opportunities to reconnect with a sense of hope.
We know that when young people feel safe, connected, and understood, they are better able to grow, learn, and build resilience that lasts.
Hull is home to Canada’s largest integrated campus for youth mental health, right here in Calgary.
Our approach brings together science, human connection, and culture to support the each individual and each unique family. We walk alongside young people and caregivers through challenges, helping them strengthen relationships, develop new skills, and create brighter futures.
That’s because healing happens with people.
