Safe Directions consists of five programs offering immediate intervention and help for youth at serious risk of harming themselves or others. These youth enter our programs either voluntarily or court-mandated depending upon the specific program as described below.

PChAD provides a confined court-ordered and monitored service to youth abusing or addicted to drugs and alcohol. Parents and/or legal guardians of young people involved in drug and alcohol use are encouraged to contact Youth Addiction Services of Alberta Health Services at 403-297-4664 for more information regarding PChAD.
RSD assists youth struggling with substance abuse and or mental health challenges who voluntarily seek help. Parents and/or legal guardians of young people involved in drug and alcohol use are encouraged to contact Youth Addiction Services of Alberta Health Services at 403-297-4664 for more information regarding Voluntary Detox Programs.
YRP provides live-in treatment, up to 12 weeks, for youth, ages 13 to 18, with substance use issues and occurring mental health concerns.
Reflections provides a confined court-ordered and monitored service for youth who are being sexually exploited or are at risk of sexual exploitation.
Secure Services provides a confined court-ordered, monitored service under the Child and Family Enhancement Act. We assess and stabilize youth with suicidal tendencies, violent behaviours and dangerous lifestyles, which present an imminent risk to themselves or others.
Stepping Stones is a transition program for youth who no longer require a confined setting but are still in need of further stabilization, assessment, or a more extended transition period.
